About The Wade Companies
A Legacy of Fabric Excellence
The Legacy Begins
George E. Wade, Sr. starts Wade Dry Cleaning Company with just three employees and $200 in capital. The small company swiftly gains traction, especially during World War II by providing vital cleaning services for military personnel.
Expansion and New Services
With Thomas Wade joining the company, Wade Dry Cleaning expands into laundry services. Acquiring adjacent property allowed for further growth, and the brothers solidified their partnership, marking a new chapter for the business.
Adding New Service Areas
Wade Dry Cleaning adds linen and uniform rental services, cementing its role as a versatile linen service. This expansion would become the foundation for future growth, as Wade continued to innovate in new service areas.
Modernizing for the Future
The demolition and reconstruction of the Linwood plant is completed. The innovative design earns Wade an award from the City, demonstrating the company’s commitment to modernization and growth.
Separation and Strategic Focus
Wade Linen Service, Inc. was founded to separate the linen supply and uniform rental from dry cleaning operations. This allowed for specialized growth, with Jesse Potts bringing in new direction and expertise, driving the company to new heights.
A New Generation Takes the Helm
In February 2000, the company leadership passed to the next generation, with George E. “Tripp” Wade III and Bruce W. Wilkinson assuming ownership. Under their leadership, Wade Companies continues to thrive and expand, building on the foundation laid by their predecessors.
A New Era for Wade Companies
After the unexpected passing of George E. Tripp” Wade III, his son, George E. Wade IV, takes over as President. This marks a new era for the Wade Companies, ensuring that the family legacy of quality, service, and innovation lives on.
